SOUNDVIEW TO ARTHUR AVENUE
Route by Hutchinson River Greenway
Pack a lunch and start your ride along the Bronx River at Soundview Park (or the Soundview Ferry terminal). Wind your way through Pugsley Creek Park to Zerega and Havemeyer Avenues. Cross the Unionport Bridge (see construction note) to hop on the beautifully paved Hutchinson River Greenway. Head east on the Moshulu-Pelham Greenway for about 3 miles through Bronx Park. Switch over to Southern Boulevard, which leads you to New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo. Finish out your day with a trip to Arthur Avenue—home of Bronx’s Little Italy. Grab a slice at Pugsley Pizza and local craft beer from The Bronx Beer Hall. Don’t forget dessert! Enjoy a cannoli or rainbow cookie from Morrone’s Pastry Shop.
Hutchinson River Greenway Team is a grassroots group that engages communities around the HRG. The team organizes cleanups, group walks and other activities on the multi-use greenway, to ensure it is safe for active use, encouraging the community to enjoy the pathways, parks, and green spaces it connects to.
