QUEENS WATERFRONT LOOP
QUEENS WATERFRONT
Route by @BKbyBike
This fun route takes you from the bustling area around McCarren Park over the newly constructed Kosciuszko Bridge bike lane. Make your way through Sunnyside to Alewife Brewing for a refreshing beer stop. Head north on Crescent and 21st Streets to Astoria. Pick up some Greek food from Niko’s Souvlaki and head to Astoria park for a waterfront picnic between the Hell Gate and Triborough Bridges. Make your way south along Vernon Boulevard through Socrates Sculpture Park as well as Rainey and Queensbridge Parks to several breweries in Long Island City—we love Fifth Hammer Brewing! Afterwards, head over to Gantry Plaza State Park and Hunters Point South Park for a scenic waterfront experience. Return to Brooklyn over the Pulaski Bridge for dinner at Acre or a movie at Skyline Drive-In/Bike-In—no car needed! This route is perfect for a group adventure or a date!
Jacqueline VanDusen, creator of @bkbybike, has biked every block of Brooklyn, NY. In September 2020, she began her journey to discover all of Queens as @queensbybike. Jacqueline is a designer, photographer and advocate for the NYC cycling community and small businesses.
